Change Your Geofence Radius to Improve Responsiveness

Increasing the radius of your Geofence will improve the detection rate of the Geofence trigger. While the radius can be as small as 100m, we recommend making it at least 250m.

How to change the Geofence radius to improve accuracy:
 

1. Open your mobile app and go to Geofence settings

 
 

2. Tap the pencil icon to the right of your existing Geofence

 

3. Change the radius to 250-300m

 

4. Press Save in the upper right-hand corner

 

General considerations and recommended settings

 

• Make sure every device in your home is logged in with its own Vera account; if the device stays permanently in the location (i.e., a tablet), make sure to go to Settings -> Geofence -> Advanced Settings -> "Disable Geofencing for this device". Geofence will not trigger if it detects people or devices in the location
• Make sure you are not logged in with the same username on multiple devices
• If the Geofence trigger is not reliable and does not trigger every time, increase the radius of the Geofence from the 100m default to 250m or more
• To improve Geofence accuracy, keep the Wifi on at all times
• All device specific settings, such as Geofence accuracy, should be enabled at all times
